Serving the Church With Music
Serving the church with music is a beautiful way to express your faith, build community, and help to lead others in worship. Whether you sing, play an instrument, or want to help behind the scenes, there is a place for your unique gifts to make a joyful noise. Here are a few ways to serve with music in our church.
CHANCEL CHOIR
If you love to sing, the sanctuary choir is an excellent, welcoming place to start. You do not need to be a professional soloist to participate.
WORSHIP TEAM
Do you play guitar, piano, drums, or another instrument? Do you sing? Consider offering your instrumental or vocal talents to our contemporary worship team.
SOLOISTS AND SPECIAL MUSIC
Perhaps a weekly commitment doesn’t fit your schedule. You could use your talent to provide special music during the service.
HANDBELL CHOIR
Perhaps you would love to make beautiful music by playing the handbells. Consider joining our wonderful handbell choir.
PRODUCTION TEAM
Music ministry isn’t just about what happens up front. If you are tech-saavy and have a good ear, serving on our production team is an incredible way to ensure the message and music are heard clearly by everyone. Running sound, managing lighting, or advancing slides are all vital forms of musical service.
HOW TO GET STARTED
You don’t need a perfect voice or advanced training to begin. The most important qualification is a servant's heart and a desire to glorify God with your talents. If you are considering joining the chancel choir, please see Patti Laughlin or call or text her at 330.397.1010. Rehearsals begin in September. To learn more about the worship team please call or text Asher Silvey at 520.227.9423. Marcy McClymonds at 724.674.1369 is your contact for the handbell choir, and Elder Keith Breuer at 724.730.9554 for the production team.
